Meaning: Procurement Management Unity is the Unity which deals with is the process of acquiring (procuring) all of the goods, services and work that is vital to the Kyela District.

The Function of procurement Unit is
Manage all procurement and disposal by tender activities of the council including the Missions except adjudication and the award of contracts, in accordance with the council’s approved Annual Plan
Advise the Management on matters pertaining to the procurement of goods and services and logistics management;
Ensure that the council adhere to procurement process and procedures as per Public Procurement Act No. 21 of 2004;
Develop an annual procurement Plan for the council;
Procure, maintain and manage supplies, materials and services to support the logistical requirements of the council;
Ensure proper handling and storage, adequate and timely distribution of office supplies and materials of the council;
Support the functioning and implement the decisions of the council Tender Board
Act as secretariat to the council Tender Board as per Public Procurement Act
Prepare tendering documents and advertise the tender opportunities
Maintain and updates inventory of goods, supplies and materials for the council;
To prepare monthly report for the tender board
Maintain a list or register of all contract awarded
